Recently purchased a 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature from a dealer as a demo vehicle. Having a bit of an issue with the Android Auto as it seems to be greyed out both in the settings menu and the applications menu. Apple Carplay/Bluetooth don't seem to have any issues and are selectable but I'm not able to select Android Auto.

Ohh gotcha. I read on several other forums that the mazda navigation is supposed to remain once Apple Carplay is installed, so that's why I'm trying to crowd source a solution. Not that I don't love Apple Carplay, but it would be good to have the Mazda navigation as a backup in case I either don't have my phone or don't have service on it.
As you can see in the photo of the 2018 mazda CX-5 the head unit protrudes from the dashboard meaning standard replacement head units won’t be possible. Alternatively, you can see in the 2009 Mazda 6 picture there is a dashboard area where a new wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen could fit.
